miscellaneous

new year's resolutions.

one of my resolutions was to read more magazines. another was to buy more music. i bought an antibalas cd last weekend. it's funky, but not as funky as fela. antibalas is an afrobeat group from brooklyn. one magazine in particular i want to read more is the economist.

time to go out on hazardous waste inspections. maybe i will mutate into the hulk. please don't make me angry.

If by chance you start to develop large muscles in your right forearm, a craving for premium, big feet, and lots of chest hair.....then you've mutated into me.

talk about being caught in the act of dangling modifiers....knew I should have proofread that post.

it should have read: If you start to develop large muscles in your right forearm, large feet, a craving for premium, and experience the growth of large amounts of chest hair......then you've mutated into me.

Thank you for your corrections Dr. Resnich.

Sports Update.....

My men's team won in basketball last night. We have been getting dominated in a city men's league, somewhat due to our poor shooting abilities. Last night we actually rebounded, and we played box in one defense (guess who got to be the one.....yeah). Anyway, we pulled out our second league victory and our record stands at 2-7.

There are numerous rumors floating around about trading randy moss. i think this is a good idea. we could get a good defender and a 1st rounder, or possibly two first rounders (in my humble opinion). One thing that must happen though- we must trade moss to an AFC team. We need him out of the division for sure, but also out of the conference. A good target in my mind: San Diego. You saw it here first. Option b: baltimore. Option c: Jets.

Anyway, more husker news: Nebraska is raping the junior college ranks this year. I think when all is said and done, we will have 9 JC players for this class. I guess this is inevitable as the coaches try to immediately upgrade the talent and depth. We already had the #2 JC prospect in the nation (a CB), now we have the #9 (a WR). Life is good. Go big red.

There are 2 scholarships left....and are top 2 targets are both realistic possibilities. One is another JC, this time a TE. The other is a safety...not just any safety, the best HS safety in the nation (according to some). He is down to Oklahoma, USC, and Nebraska. Even if we don't get him, that says a lot about the company we're keeping for our recruits. A few years ago, we were going head to head with Kansas state, colorado, and iowa state (and often losing). Now, we're in the market for studs.
